We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a leading global automotive supplier working on next-generation electrification solutions.

This position is focused on the development of High Voltage (HV) Inverter and Electric Propulsion Systems, supporting major automotive OEM programmes. You will act as a key technical contributor, owning system-level activities from requirements definition through to integration, verification, validation and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead system engineering activities for HV inverter and electric propulsion programmes.
  • Develop, analyse and manage system requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Define and maintain system architecture and functional concepts.
  • Support system integration activities and ensure alignment across software, hardware and controls teams.
  • Coordinate verification and validation activities to demonstrate compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across global locations.
  • Act as a key technical interface for automotive OEM customers.
  • Support technical reviews, change management and customer discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality, safety and development standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Required Experience

  • Strong background in Systems Engineering within the automotive industry.
  • Experience across:

    • Requirements Engineering
    • System Architecture
    • Integration
    • Verification & Validation
  • Experience working on electrification products such as:

    • HV Inverters
    • Electric Drive Systems
    • Electric Propulsion Systems
    • Power Electronics
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical topics and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with software, hardware and test engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working directly with automotive OEM customers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in HV inverter functions and motor control strategies.
  • Knowledge of electric propulsion systems and eDrive technologies.
  • Understanding of ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage Safety requirements.
  • Experience using:

    • Polarion
    • JIRA
    • Enterprise Architect
    • MATLAB/Simulink
  • Familiarity with automotive development processes and system engineering methodologies.
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical leadership role.
  • German language skills are advantageous.
