Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in Configuration Management (CM) to support rail projects throughout the east coast of Australia. The role is aimed at Senior Consultant level or above

Ideally, this will be someone who has considerable experience developing and implementing Configuration Management processes, managing technical baselines, change control, and requirements traceability. Experience with DOORS Classic or NG is highly desirable. You will provide guidance on CM best practices across all stages of the system lifecycle. Ability to obtain RPEQ is required, as is a requirement to be based in Brisbane. Systems Engineers from defence with no prior rail experience are still encouraged to apply.

Location-             Brisbane, QLD (interstate relocation available)

Duration-             Permanent, full-time

Salary-               $140,000 - $180,000 + Super

Hours-                Monday-Friday Hybrid – 1-2 days WFH

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and delivery of systems engineering deliverables as per client requirement e.g.

    including Configuration Management Plans, Change Management processes, and Requirements Management strategies.

  • Establish and manage configuration baselines, ensuring integrity and control of project deliverables.
  • Manage technical change control processes and configuration status accounting.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, design outputs, verification activities, and project deliverables.
  • Conduct configuration audits and ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
  • Support broader Systems Engineering activities including requirements management and verification planning.
  • Assist in tender production, work-winning, and client engagement.
  • Mentor junior staff

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar (RPEQ Eligibility desirable)
  • 5+ years Systems Engineering experience
  • Knowledge of relevant standards:

    • EN 50126/8/9
    • IEC 61508
    • ISO 15288
  • Understanding of full Systems Engineering V-Lifecycle / INCOSE handbook standards
  • Experience with Config Management, baseline management and change control
  • Familiar with DOORS / DOORS NG or other requirements engineering tools
  • Australian working rights – Australian Citizen, PR or Visa holder
