Position Overview
This opportunity is suited to a highly technical Senior Telecommunication Systems Engineer with strong experience in complex engineering environments. The Senior Telecommunication Systems Engineer will support studies and engineering activities related to telecommunication systems for a major LNG project. This position offers the chance to contribute to technically demanding scope across system design, vendor documentation review, and installation validation. The role will suit a Senior Telecommunication Systems Engineer who can work effectively within a project discipline team and report to the Lead Engineer.
Role Context
This role is within the Oil & Gas sector and supports an onshore LNG project. The position is focused on telecommunication engineering studies and associated project delivery activities within a structured engineering environment. The successful candidate will work within the project discipline team and report to the Lead Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Develop telecommunication systems architecture and block diagrams.
Prepare telecommunication technical specifications.
Support telecommunication material take-off activities, including cables and power distribution.
Coordinate interfaces with existing telecommunication systems.
Prepare telecommunication layouts, including CCTV and PAGA layouts.
Carry out technical comparisons and evaluations.
Manage technical correspondence with vendors.
Review and comment on vendor drawings and technical documents.
Perform technical review of supplier offers.
Participate in validation activities related to telecommunication system installation aspects, including cabinet quantities.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Strong knowledge of telecommunication systems including PAGA, Hot Line, Telephone System, CCTV System, UHF TETRA Radio System, VHF Marine Radio System, Fiber Optic Network, LAN System, Ship-to-Shore Link System, ACS, Wireless System, and Intrusion Detection System.
Essential:
Expertise in telecommunication systems within the Oil & Gas sector, particularly onshore LNG facilities.
Essential:
Strong know-how in onshore telecommunication systems.
Essential:
Knowledge of telecommunication system installation and validation aspects.
Essential:
Understanding of applicable international standards and codes, including ISA, IEC, and ATEX.
Essential:
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Visio, as well as AutoCAD.
Essential:
Senior-level experience relevant to a Senior Telecommunication Systems Engineer position.
