Airswift is seeking a Service Technician (HVAC) at an engineering and services company in Kingston - Jamaica specializing in building installations, with a focus on air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and ventilation systems.
The Service Technician performs field service work—including preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and minor modernizations—on HVAC, refrigeration, and applied systems at customer facilities throughout Jamaica.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct preventive maintenance visits following the established checklist and standards; systematically diagnose and repair faults by addressing the root cause; and meet contracted response times for service calls.
Complete the digital service report before leaving the site—detailing the work performed, parts used, readings, and photos, and obtaining the customer's signature—while adhering to manufacturer (OEM) warranty requirements.
Maintain a professional appearance and punctuality, explain the work clearly, leave the site clean, and refer commercial inquiries to your coordinator.
Work in compliance with the Group’s HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) system and handle refrigerants in accordance with legal regulations—performing recovery and maintaining necessary records, while ensuring no refrigerant is ever released into the atmosphere.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Professional certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HEART/NVQ-J or equivalent) or equivalent proven competence.
Experience in HVAC/refrigeration services—commercial split systems, packaged units, and, preferably, applied systems and controls.
Technical knowledge: Ability to systematically diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control faults; competence in brazing, refrigerant recovery, and charging.
Refrigerant handling: Certified or eligible for certification in refrigerant handling; adherence to environmentally sound practices.
Driver's license: Valid Jamaican driver's license required. Clean driving record (no serious violations).
Languages: Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken) required.
