Position Overview

ServiceNow Architect

is a senior-level opportunity for a ServiceNow Architect to lead solution architecture, technical design, and platform governance within a complex enterprise environment. This position offers the chance to shape scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that improve workflow efficiency, user experience, security, and operational performance. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative onsite environment, partnering with business and IT stakeholders to deliver high-quality platform outcomes. This candidate opportunity is well suited to candidates with strong architectural leadership, enterprise solution design experience, and deep ServiceNow expertise.

Role Context

This onsite role supports enterprise ServiceNow initiatives within a large-scale business environment. The position sits within a collaborative setting involving business analysts, process owners, IT teams, and wider stakeholder groups. The focus is on delivering architecture, governance, and platform enhancements across business-critical workflows and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of scalable ServiceNow solutions aligned with business objectives, platform standards, and long-term maintainability.

  • Own technical design decisions and provide recommendations across scalability, security, maintainability, and supportability.

  • Translate business needs into high-quality applications, workflows, automation, and platform enhancements.

  • Define and document technical architecture, integration patterns, data flows, solution designs, and implementation guidance.

  • Evaluate requests for platform fit, scalability, maintainability, security, and alignment with best practice.

  • Lead design reviews and platform governance to reduce unnecessary customisation and technical debt.

  • Support integrations with enterprise systems using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, or similar integration technologies.

  • Create and maintain custom applications, service catalog items, fulfilment workflows, self-service portals, and related platform components.

  • Support accurate CMDB data and deliver IT Operations Management solutions across areas including ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, CSM, SPM, and SAM.

  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, optimise performance, and support security and compliance requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance to development team members and contribute to continuous improvement and platform roadmap planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential:

    3 or more years of recent experience in an IT Architect role.

  • Essential:

    6 or more years of IT experience working with ServiceNow configuration, scripting, and development.

  • Essential:

    Experience designing and implementing IT Operations Management solutions.

  • Essential:

    Experience designing ServiceNow solutions in a complex enterprise environment with multiple stakeholder groups, integrations, and governance requirements.

  • Essential:

    Experience leading ServiceNow architecture and solution design efforts beyond configuration and development.

  • Essential:

    Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, data model, ACLs and security, workflows, Flow Designer, integrations, CMDB, and CSDM concepts.

  • Essential:

    Experience with ServiceNow modules and capabilities including ITSM, ITOM, GRC/IRM, SecOps, CSM, SPM, SAM, CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, and Service Mapping.

  • Essential:

    Experience with integrations using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, or similar technologies.

  • Essential:

    Experience with ServiceNow governance, platform standards, upgrade planning, release management, and technical debt reduction.

  • Essential:

    Ability to create solution design documents, technical specifications, architecture diagrams, process flows, and implementation guidance.

  • Essential:

    Professional-level English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Essential:

    Proven ability to influence stakeholders and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Desirable:

    ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification.

  • Desirable:

    ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification.

  • Desirable:

    ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certification in ITSM, ITOM, or a related module.

  • Desirable:

    ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect certification.
