Site Lifting Specialist (SURF SLS - Onboard Pipelay Vessel)

12 months (renewable)

Rotational 4 weeks on 4 weeks off
Location:
Offshore Angola
This opportunity sits within a major deepwater offshore development and focuses on the safe execution of handling and lifting operations aboard a pipelay installation vessel. The role supports offshore installation, subsea structures, riser and umbilical activities, with direct involvement in lift planning, equipment integrity, risk assessment and lifting compliance. This position offers strong technical exposure across offshore cranes, subsea lifting operations and HSE-critical marine activities.
Required Education:
Technical engineering qualification or industry-related qualification such as LEEA, EAL or CPA
Required Experience:
Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in the lifting and handling industry
Experience in offshore or oil and gas environments, including hazardous area operations and ATEX concepts
Background in roles such as rigger foreman, rigging supervisor, lifting supervisor or lifting superintendent
Experience coordinating and supervising mechanical lifting activities on offshore installation sites or vessels
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of international lifting standards and best practices including ASME, FME, DIN and NSL
Technical knowledge of offshore lifting equipment including subsea cranes, offshore cranes, winches, slings and associated lifting accessories
Ability to prepare and review risk assessments, lift plans and Safe-to-Lift checklists for lifting operations
Experience monitoring lift categories, validating lifting procedures and supporting audits, investigations and lessons learned
Ability to provide technical guidance on lifting equipment selection and safe use, including cranes, containers, baskets, racks, slings and shackles
Strong reporting and documentation skills, including audits, weekly and monthly lifting reports and procedural updates
Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
English language capability for reporting and operational communication
Strong autonomy, flexibility and adaptability in a multicultural offshore environment
Required Certifications:
Valid BOSIET or HUET
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in training and coaching
Portuguese and or French language skills
Previous HSE supervisory experience
Valid work permit for Angola
