Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Purpose
Provide electrical engineering expertise to support projects, operations, and maintenance activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient execution aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering support across projects, operations, and maintenance activities.
- Review electrical designs, drawings, and documentation including Single Line Diagrams, schematics, and LV/MV systems.
- Support project teams by reviewing scope changes, identifying risks, and ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
- Participate in FAT/SAT activities and support commissioning and start-up activities.
- Apply electrical engineering principles in system analysis including power calculations, load analysis, and power factor correction.
- Support power generation and distribution systems, including generator operations and load management.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC) and best practices.
- Identify and address electrical risks, including hazardous area classification, arc flash, and safe work practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical input to project and operational stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in oil & gas or related industry
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of electrical systems (LV/MV/HV) and components (transformers, switchgear, UPS, motors, generators)
- Understanding of protection systems (overcurrent, earth fault, undervoltage)
- Familiarity with power system concepts (load shedding, generator control, reactive power)
- Knowledge of IEC standards and hazardous area classifications
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
