Software Commissioning Engineer
Software Commissioning Engineer opportunity supporting the integration and testing of controls software in an onsite industrial automation environment.
Role Context
This position is focused on industrial automation and warehouse systems, with work spanning machine and software integration, controls software, PLCs, sensors, and related networking systems.
About the Role
The Software Commissioning Engineer will help develop integration and end-to-end test cases and contribute to the successful delivery of controls software within a complex automation setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and help develop integration and end-to-end test cases related to controls software for PLCs, sensors and related networking systems.
- Support system integration between machines and software.
- Carry out end to end System integration Testing.
- Work onsite within warehouse or industrial automations environments.
- Contribute to software development lifecycle activities.
- Apply IoT experience with large scale industrial automation setups.
- Support supply chain, distribution, warehouse management systems, and warehouse control systems technologies.
- Work with network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, FTP, and SOA.
- Use advanced knowledge of database design and file management techniques.
- Work with Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Excellent hands-on System integration experience between machines and Software.
- Hands-on End to end System integration Testing experience.
- Mandatory Onsite Experience with Warehouse or Industrial automations.
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience.
- IoT experience with large scale industrial automation setups.
- Experience in supply chain, distribution, warehouse management systems, and warehouse control systems technologies.
- Professional experience in Material Handling Systems and/or Warehouse Control Systems (WCS).
- Advanced knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, FTP, and SOA.
- Advanced knowledge of database design and file management techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Linux, Microsoft Windows.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- AutoStore experience is highly desired.
