We are seeking an experienced SSHE Manager to lead and oversee all Safety, Security, Health, Environmental, Regulatory Compliance, Emergency Response, and Incident Management activities for a large-scale industrial capital project. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving operational excellence, and fostering a strong safety culture across all project phases.
The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership, contractors, and functional stakeholders to establish effective SSHE processes, monitor performance, manage risks, and support the safe delivery of project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all SSHE activities across the project, including safety, security, occupational health, environmental management, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and incident management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain management systems, procedures, and programs aligned with industry best practices and project requirements.
- Serve as the focal point for SSHE governance, ensuring effective implementation of standards, processes, and performance expectations.
- Manage interfaces with internal stakeholders, project teams, contractors, and external regulatory bodies.
- Ensure contractor and subcontractor onboarding programs effectively communicate project SSHE expectations and requirements.
- Lead assessments and verification activities to evaluate the effectiveness of SSHE programs, workforce competency, emergency response readiness, and high-risk work controls.
- Develop and manage SSHE performance reporting systems, tracking both leading and lagging indicators.
- Maintain data integrity and stewardship of project SSHE performance metrics.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project leadership regarding SSHE risks, opportunities, and compliance obligations.
- Lead emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response initiatives.
- Support incident investigations, corrective action implementation, documentation, and follow-up activities.
- Manage project SSHE budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote the sharing of lessons learned and best practices.
- Support project risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Mentor and develop SSHE professionals and foster professional growth within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in industrial, energy, infrastructure, construction, or large capital projects.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role focused on Safety, Security, Health, and Environment.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, environmental management, emergency response, incident management, and occupational health programs.
- Experience supporting large-scale construction or capital projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence contractor performance.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to function effectively as both a leader and mentor.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing integrated safety and operational management systems.
- Background supporting major industrial, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Professional certifications related to Safety, Health, Environmental, or Risk Management are advantageous.
