About the Role
Airswift is currently recruiting for an experienced Start-Up Manager to support a major LNG development project in the UAE. The successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation, planning, and execution of start-up and operational readiness activities for one of the world's largest LNG developments, ensuring a safe and efficient transition from commissioning into operations. The position will initially be based in Paris during the project preparation phase before transferring to site in Ruwais, UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, planning and execution of start-up and operational readiness activities.
- Define start-up philosophies, sequences, procedures and schedules in coordination with project planning teams.
- Support the development and review of operating manuals, start-up procedures and operational documentation.
- Coordinate with commissioning, engineering, operations, vendors and licensors to ensure successful plant start-up.
- Identify technical risks, operational challenges and site constraints, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
- Review project design to ensure operability and start-up requirements are properly incorporated.
- Participate in workshops, technical reviews and supplier clarification activities.
- Support operator training programs and operational readiness initiatives.
- Develop performance test procedures and oversee plant performance demonstrations.
- Ensure all start-up activities are performed in accordance with HSE requirements, quality standards and project objectives.
- Act as the primary focal point for operational matters with the client and project stakeholders.
- Prepare regular progress reports and final start-up reports documenting lessons learned and recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of LNG operations and start-up experience.
- Strong knowledge of LNG processes, commissioning, start-up and operational readiness activities.
- Previous experience in a similar Start-Up Manager, Operations Manager or Commissioning leadership position within LNG projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong understanding of EPC project environments and large-scale industrial facilities.
- Experience working on site during commissioning and start-up phases.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with process engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs and operational procedures.
- Fluent English required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience on world-scale LNG facilities.
- Exposure to performance testing and operational handover.
- Previous involvement in joint venture or multi-contractor project environments.
- Knowledge of commissioning, completion and operational software tools.
