Job Title: Structural Engineer
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to support offshore oil & gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for structural detailed engineering and basic design activities for offshore facilities, ensuring engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline

Required Experience:

  • 5-8 years of structural engineering experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Experience supporting offshore platforms, topsides, FPSO, petrochemical, or industrial projects
  • Exposure to detailed engineering, fabrication support, and project execution activities
  • Experience or exposure to FEED (Front-End Engineering Design)
  • Experience in site verification or site survey work
  • Basic involvement in bidding or tendering activities

Required Skills:

  • Ability to prepare structural engineering deliverables including calculations, drawings, material take-offs, and design reports
  • Capability in basic structural design and analysis for offshore structures and topside facilities
  • Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SACS, SAP2000, SESAM, or similar structural analysis software
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, SmartPlant 3D, or other engineering design tools
  • Knowledge of offshore design codes and standards including API, AISC, DNV, ISO, and relevant international standards
  • Understanding of structural steel design, connection design, and offshore structural systems
  • Ability to review engineering drawings, calculations, vendor documents, and 3D models
  • Knowledge of constructability and fabrication requirements for offshore design
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Process, and E&I disciplines
  • Ability to support design reviews and resolve engineering issues during detailed engineering, fabrication, and construction phases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EPC project experience
  • Offshore fixed platform project experience
  • Experience with detailed engineering for jackets, topsides, and supporting structures
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering coordination
  • Previous experience within EPC contractors or engineering consultancies
