Subsea Installation Lead Engineer
Reporting lines and interactions:
Hierarchically reports to the Installation and Construction Manager
Operationally reports to Project Engineering Manager or T&I Manager
Key interactions:
Internally: Designers and specialist engineers, other disciplines
Externally: clients, suppliers, sub-contractors
Job Description:
Within the Subsea Installation Department, you will be responsible for the installation engineering scope of a specific package/equipment on a Project, Study or Tender. You will be directly reporting to the Project/ Tender Installation leaders. Functionally, you will remain under the Subsea Installation Discipline Manager responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of engineers (multi-disciplines – e.g. Installation analyses, Installation engineering, pre-commissioning, survey) and a package
Manage all external interfaces (clients, suppliers) and internal (other disciplines, installation, manufacturing, purchase)
Define and be accountable for the installation methodologies defined on the project/tender
Ensure adequation of the installation methodologies vs Installation analyses outcomes and inputs from other disciplines
Prepare and perform the required deliverables and activities as allocated by the Project Lead
Prepare, with the team, offshore campaign by leading HIRAs session and implementing outcomes and ensuring that all materials are ordered and ready on time vs mobilization requirements.
Ensure the reporting of the Installation Engineering activities to your management
Ensure of the quality of the documentations and the respect of the company’s standards in terms of QHSE
Interface with the other Subsea Disciplines (Engineering, Operations, QHSE,…)
Liaise regularly with Department organization to ensure that adequate staffing is in place to be able to meet the deliverables target
Participate in the consolidation & sharing of the engineering team expertise and know-how
Propose innovative methodologies to increase the competitivity of our offers
As required, support your Project Lead in supervising other installation packages or engineers
Participate to vessel mobilization as well as installation phases on vessel in order to accompany the offshore crew and support the offshore operations.
Profile
To succeed in this position; you should have the following skills & experience:
Graduated with a Master of Engineering (ideally with specialization in Offshore Industry, Naval architecture) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in an installation / operation role
Ideally, several years’ experience in a Lead installation engineering role
Good knowledge of offshore installation
Good experience of the offshore operations,
Good communication skills, capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to lead a multi-discipline lead
Ability to transmit your knowledge.
Mobility to support the operations during the execution phase according to the project schedule
Proficiency in English (spoken, written) is a must
