Position STRUCTURAL ENGINEER JUNIOR ON SUBSEA PROJECT
Location: 78180 Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France
Work Pattern: A presence on-site is required at least 3 days per week.
Role Overvie
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and verification of offshore subsea structures, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and engineering best practices. The successful candidate will work closely with lead engineers, designers, and drafting teams throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural design and engineering calculations for offshore subsea structures.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and hand calculations to validate structural integrity and performance.
Develop and propose technical solutions to project leads and engineering management.
Review engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Collaborate closely with designers and drafting teams to ensure the accuracy and quality of issued drawings.
Provide clear and reliable engineering data during detailed design and advanced project phases.
Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure all engineering deliverables are produced in accordance with project schedules, specifications, and applicable industry standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Proven experience in the design and analysis of offshore subsea structures.
Demonstrated experience working on:
FLETs (Flowline End Terminations)
Manifolds
Suction Piles
Large Mudmats
Similar offshore subsea structures
Strong ability to work autonomously and manage engineering activities independently.
Experience providing technical guidance and engineering solutions within multidisciplinary project teams.
Previous experience reviewing drawings and coordinating effectively with drafting teams.
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of structural design principles and offshore engineering practices.
Strong competency in engineering calculations and structural assessments.
Mandatory experience with ABAQUS finite element analysis software, including:
2D shell modelling
3D solid (volumetric) modelling
Proficiency in performing and validating hand calculations.
Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Languages
English: Fluent written and spoken communication is mandatory.
French: Preferred.
