We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Contract Formation Specialist to support the development, negotiation, and execution of commercial agreements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring contracts are structured effectively, risks are identified and mitigated, and agreements align with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end tendering process, including solicitation development, bidder clarifications, evaluation, negotiations, exception management, and contract award and formation
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations) to define scope, commercial structures, and contract terms
- Drive and support commercial negotiations, ensuring outcomes align with corporate policies, risk tolerance, and business objectives
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks throughout the contracting lifecycle
- Ensure all contracts comply with internal governance frameworks, legal requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate, auditable, and well-organized contract documentation within contract management systems
- Develop, standardize, and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and best practices
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to internal teams on contract formation strategy, processes, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in contract formation, procurement, or commercial contracting
- Strong understanding of contract law principles and commercial terms
- Experience in negotiation and stakeholder management
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in energy, oil & gas, or large-scale industrial environments
- Professional certifications (e.g., SCMP, CPSM, or Legal/Contract Management certifications)
- Familiarity with ERP or contract lifecycle management systems (e.g., Ivalua, SAP, Ariba, or similar)
