Supply Planner / Sales Account Executive

Location: Altona, Victoria

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Supply Planner to support upstream energy supply operations across Victoria and Western Australia. This role is responsible for coordinating hydrocarbon product sales, managing customer nominations, supporting market activities, and maintaining key stakeholder relationships across Australia's domestic gas markets.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams across Melbourne, Perth, Budapest and Bangalore, as well as external market participants including customers, pipeline operators, storage operators, regulators and joint venture partners.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient gas and liquids supply coordination while supporting commercial and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Product Supply & Market Coordination

  • Coordinate hydrocarbon product sales, including natural gas, natural gas liquids, condensate, acid gas and electricity.
  • Monitor daily customer gas nominations and act as the initial escalation point for nomination and gas supply issues.
  • Prepare materials for and facilitate twice-weekly gas and NGL marketing meetings.
  • Participate in weekly production planning meetings and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
  • Report short-term sales transaction data to market operators in a timely manner.
  • Monitor forecast gas liftings and communicate requirements to Joint Venture operators.

Commercial & Contract Support

  • Review and endorse product sales offers prior to issuance, ensuring volume availability and maintenance considerations are appropriately incorporated.
  • Review and endorse product sales agreements, transaction notes and related documentation before execution.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of existing commercial agreements and contractual arrangements.
  • Support electricity procurement activities.
  • Coordinate payables associated with facilitated gas markets and gas services contracts.

Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor public and subscription-based market information sources to identify and communicate relevant market developments.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly market insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Australian domestic gas markets.
  • Prepare month-end and month-commencement reporting, including:
    • Lifting and pricing reports
    • Downtime reporting
    • Demand forecasting
    • Market activity reporting

Systems & Stakeholder Management

  • Oversee the customer nomination platform and manage vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate internal and external systems access requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with:
    • Market operators
    • Gas customers
    • Joint Venture partners
    • Pipeline operators
    • Gas storage operators
    • Internal global support teams

Working Arrangements

  • Full-time, office-based position.
  • 4 days on / 3 days off roster, with Monday being a mandatory workday.
  • Flexibility may be provided for unforeseen circumstances where required.
  • Participation in a 24/7 duty phone roster is required.
  • Duty phone responsibilities attract loading allowances, including overtime payments for time worked and standing disturbance allowances.
  • Back-up duty phone coverage may be required during periods of annual leave, sick leave or other absences.
  • Minimal travel requirements, with occasional domestic travel (typically once per year).

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with remote internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within wholesale gas markets, including:
    • Gas producers
    • Energy retailers
    • Industrial gas buyers
    • Gas storage operators
    • Pipeline operators
    • Energy market regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of Australian gas market operations and commercial agreements.
