This opportunity supports a major crude oil pipeline and marine export infrastructure project, with responsibility for maintaining and improving critical telecommunications systems across multiple operational sites. The role offers broad technical exposure to fiber optic communication networks, PAGA, CCTV, marine VHF radio systems, LAN/WAN, VSAT, microwave, routers, switches, and security-related telecom systems. This position is well suited to professionals with strong maintenance, troubleshooting, and telecom network performance experience in complex industrial environments.
Required Education:
BSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Computer Science & ICT, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Required Experience:
At least 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, telecommunications, or a comparable high-potential technical environment
Experience delivering preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and major maintenance activities for telecommunications equipment and systems
Experience supporting telecom infrastructure in industrial or plant environments, including fault finding, root cause analysis, and system recovery planning
Experience working with plant security systems such as video surveillance, access control and identification management systems, or intrusion detection systems
Experience preparing technical bid evaluations, reviewing invitation to bid documentation, and supporting vendor or contractor management
Experience producing maintenance reports, standard operating procedures, work packs, and end-of-test documentation
Required Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic communication network systems and Ethernet
Hands-on capability with marine VHF radios, marine telecom systems, and berthing aid systems
Knowledge of public address and general alarm systems
Experience with CCTV, PABX, LAN, WAN, VSAT, UHF, VHF, microwave, routers, switches, hubs, and Ethernet-based telecommunication systems
Ability to configure and maintain network devices and optimize network performance through monitoring, threshold setting, and congestion diagnosis
Competence in telecom hardware and software diagnostics, defective component replacement, and technical problem resolution
Ability to analyse and test communication networks for reliability, signal quality, error rate, and coverage range
Knowledge of data backup practices, spare parts inventory control, and telecom asset and configuration management
Understanding of telecommunications safety, reliability standards, and local regulatory compliance requirements
Ability to prepare radio frequency coordination documentation, licence applications, renewals, and radio propagation charts
CMMS knowledge and good MS Office capability
Proficiency in spoken and written English
