About the Role

This is a full-time, 5 days a week role for one of the fuel terminals of an oil and gas company based in Silverwater NSW on a 12-months’ contract duration.

As a Terminal Operator, you will help ensure the smooth and safe movement of fuel products through the terminal. This hands-on role involves coordinating product receipt and dispatch activities, monitoring and maintaining equipment, supporting terminal operations, and ensuring compliance with strict safety and environmental standards. You will work closely with drivers, contractors, and operational teams to maintain reliable site performance and contribute to the safe delivery of products to customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate urgent customer deliveries with sales, warehouses, and transport providers.

  2. Manage bulk orders to optimise transport efficiency and costs.

  3. Oversee returns, delivery exceptions, and product redirects to meet service KPIs.

  4. Provide responsive customer support and resolve service issues efficiently.

  5. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HSSE, quality, and environmental standards.

  6. Report safety, security, environmental, and quality incidents as required.

  7. Support general dispatch, fulfilment, and customer service activities as needed.

Ideal Candidate Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Terminal Operator or in a similar industrial operations role

  • Strong understanding of operational procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other computer applications

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership when required

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver's license

  • Completion of relevant operational and safety training, or willingness to complete required company training and certification programs
