Job Title: Production Tech IV

Location: Mentone, TX
This opportunity is with a major international oil and gas exploration and production company with a strong focus on advanced technology, production efficiency, and responsible operations. The role supports flowback operations and early-life production in the Delaware Basin, with responsibility for automated choke systems, production surveillance, equipment troubleshooting, and field data accuracy. This position offers the chance to work closely with operations, engineering, automation, measurement, and field service teams to optimize well performance and maintain safe, reliable operations.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in oil and gas
- Demonstrated knowledge of oil and gas production and flowback operations
- Experience supporting newly completed wells through flowback, cleanup, and transition into normal production operations
- Experience working in an active oil and gas field environment with changing well and equipment conditions
Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of wellhead equipment, flowback equipment, separators, tanks, flowlines, valves, meters, instrumentation, and pressure-control equipment
- Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot automated flowback systems and associated control equipment
- Ability to monitor and interpret pressures, production rates, fluid volumes, automation trends, alarm history, and changing well conditions
- General mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation troubleshooting skills
- Ability to validate digital readings against field conditions and local gauge readings to identify sensor failures, calibration issues, communication losses, and inaccurate data
- Proficiency with personal computers, Windows-based applications, production databases, and digital field data systems
- Ability to accurately enter, review, and validate operational and production data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong safety awareness and the ability to recognize operational, equipment, automation, and environmental hazards
Required Certifications:
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in flowback, completions, production operations, lease operations, automation, or measurement
- Experience with automated choke systems and flowback control panels
- Experience with pressure transmitters, level controls, flow meters, electronic measurement, SCADA, or remote monitoring systems
- Experience troubleshooting instrumentation, automation, communication, and control systems
- Hands-on experience with field automation and electronic measurement equipment
- Experience coordinating contractors and third-party service providers
