Airswift is looking for an HSE Advisor/Specialist II to work for a major O&G company in Midland, TX, for an initial 6-months assignment.
Position Overview
This US|HSE Advisor/Specialist II opportunity is focused on supporting environmentally responsible onshore operations in the Permian Basin. The role is centred on securing approvals, reducing compliance and schedule risk, and translating environmental requirements into practical guidance for field activity. This US|HSE Advisor/Specialist II position will suit candidates who can operate in a highly schedule-driven environment and provide clear, technically sound environmental support. The US|HSE Advisor/Specialist II role is based fully onsite in Midland, Texas.
Role Context
This position sits within onshore oil and gas operations in the Permian Basin, covering activities across Texas and New Mexico. The role supports planning, drilling, completions, construction, and operational readiness in a field-based environment where compliance, timing, and execution quality are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify environmental constraints, survey needs, mitigation requirements, and regulatory triggers early in the planning process.
- Manage permitting activities and support approvals linked to field development and operational execution.
- Support environmental reviews relating to biological, cultural, WOTUS, karst, threatened and endangered habitats, construction, and compliance requirements.
- Complete Clear-to-Construct reviews and provide guidance on constraint mapping, permit conditions, and seasonal restrictions.
- Track environmental conditions of approval and help ensure requirements are clearly communicated before field activity begins.
- Maintain inspection activities, reporting obligations, and verification of environmental commitments.
- Coordinate with agencies, contractors, and operational stakeholders to support accurate submissions, timely responses, and defensible records.
- Review environmental survey work, technical reports, contractor deliverables, schedules, and quality of output.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: Diploma in a Health, Environment, and Safety related field.
- Essential: Working knowledge of environmental and permitting requirements relevant to onshore oil and gas planning, drilling, completions, and construction in Texas and New Mexico.
- Essential: Ability to identify environmental risks and translate technical requirements into clear, field-ready actions.
- Essential: Experience supporting construction readiness, permit condition verification, inspections, reporting, and environmental documentation.
- Essential: Strong communication, decision-making, and stakeholder coordination skills in a schedule-driven environment.
- Desirable: Regulatory environmental experience, particularly with New Mexico regulations.
- Desirable: Oil and gas industry experience.
- Desirable: Strong digital or technical organisational skills.
- Desirable: High attention to detail in permit gathering, field coordination, and environmental protection activities.
