About the Role

This is a Perth-based, full-time 5 days a week role on an initial 6-months contract basis for an oil and gas operator. 

The Valve Advisor SME provides technical leadership and governance for valve asset management across operated assets, driving reliability, cost optimisation, and lifecycle performance. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to deliver effective asset strategies, optimise repair and inventory outcomes, and ensure quality execution through a robust governance framework.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical leadership and governance for valve lifecycle management, ensuring effective asset strategies, standards, and execution models are in place.
  2. Drive optimisation of valve spare parts, inventory holdings, and offsite repair (OSR) strategies to improve reliability and cost efficiency.
  3. Establish and maintain lifecycle management processes that support safe, reliable, and fit-for-purpose valve performance.
  4. Monitor and enhance contractor and vendor performance to ensure quality, compliance, and value delivery.
  5. Operate within a Quality Management framework by defining requirements, assuring contractor execution, and driving continuous improvement across valve management activities.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Expertise in valve systems, maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management, asset integrity, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to improve asset performance, optimise inventory, and reduce costs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Mechanical Engineering or relevant Trade qualification (Instrumentation considered) with 10+ years of valve industry experience preferred.
