Warehouse Associate II
Position Overview
The Warehouse Associate II is responsible for supporting the receipt, storage, control, staging, and delivery of materials used for preventive maintenance and repair activities across multiple facilities. This role requires experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling within an industrial environment.
Success in this position depends on maintaining accurate inventory records, following established material control processes, operating equipment safely, and supporting maintenance teams with timely material availability. This is a hands-on role that offers variety across warehouse operations and site support activities.
Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial warehouse environment that may include hot, cold, dusty, or drafty conditions.
The typical schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility and occasional additional hours as required. Local travel to nearby facilities is required to deliver materials and support operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive inbound shipments, verify quantities and part numbers, and accurately complete inventory receipt transactions.
- Issue materials in accordance with established inventory control procedures and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Pull, kit, label, and stage materials for preventive maintenance work orders, including preparation of required documentation.
- Perform cycle counts, bin audits, and location audits; investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Safely operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stage materials throughout the warehouse.
- Deliver staged materials and kits to nearby facilities and ensure loads are properly secured for transport.
- Maintain warehouse organization, housekeeping, and material storage standards.
- Support urgent material requests and deliveries for repair activities as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse, inventory, or materials coordination experience, including receiving, issuing, and inventory control activities.
- Forklift certification, or ability to obtain/maintain certification as required.
- Experience processing inventory transactions in SAP or a comparable ERP system, including receiving, issuing, and cycle count activities.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance and remain standing or walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely in industrial warehouse conditions, including hot, cold, and dusty environments.
- Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and inventory management systems.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and safely perform physical job requirements, including bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, and continuous use of hearing and vision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting maintenance organizations through material kitting and staging activities.
- Experience operating propane-powered forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse slotting, min/max inventory replenishment, and inventory accuracy practices.
- Experience supporting multiple facilities and coordinating material deliveries or logistics activities.
