Location: Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France, with onshore and offshore project support as required

Position Overview
Airswift is recruiting for a Welding Engineer on behalf of a company operating within the oil and gas sector. This Welding Engineer position will focus on providing specialist materials and welding engineering support across study, construction, and supervision activities. The Welding Engineer will work autonomously while interfacing with wider project disciplines and supporting technical decision-making across multiple projects. This Welding Engineer opportunity is suited to candidates with strong expertise in welding processes, NDT, subcontractor oversight, and project-based engineering support.
Role Context
This opportunity is based within a multi-project services environment supporting engineering studies and construction-related activities in the energy sector. The work includes both office-based and site-related responsibilities, with potential onshore and offshore mission support. The role sits within a technical project environment where collaboration with managers, project teams, and subcontractors is essential to support delivery across demanding operational workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to project teams across materials and welding engineering activities.
- Review client specifications and technical requirements across different projects.
- Analyse technical offers to support subcontractor selection.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and provide technical guidance where required.
- Review manufacturing documentation, including welding logs and NDT procedures.
- Support the resolution of non-conformities relating to welding and materials activities.
- Provide technical input to both project and construction site activities, including site missions where required.
- Help implement procedures applied across multiple projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Welding Engineer within oil and gas or a comparable technical engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of welding engineering principles and NDT processes.
- ESSA and/or IWE Welding Engineer background preferred.
- Knowledge of oil and gas project delivery environments.
- English language capability required.
- French language capability required.
- Valid BOSIET approved by OPITO preferred.
- Valid MFC preferred.
- Valid Seaman Book preferred.
- Ability to work independently under the supervision of a manager and coordinate effectively with other disciplines.
