Ian Langley is Chair and Co-Founder of Airswift. Having founded Air Energi nearly 40 years ago, he has been part of Airswift's journey from the very beginning and remains closely involved in guiding the business today.

Ian has spent his career building and leading successful international businesses and brings extensive leadership experience across the energy, engineering and workforce solutions sectors.

As Chair of the Board, he provides strategic oversight and supports the executive leadership team as Airswift continues its global growth.

Ian began his career with a four-year engineering apprenticeship at British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL), before completing the Certificate and Diploma in Industrial Management at Wolverhampton University and the PACE Programme at Manchester Business School. He has received a number of industry accolades throughout his career, including BVCA Management Team of the Year and nominations for EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy working with good people and seeing them succeed. Throughout my career I've taken satisfaction from building businesses, developing teams and helping organisations grow. Even after all these years, it's still rewarding to see the business move forward and people develop alongside it.

What has been your proudest achievement?

Building Airswift from its early days into the global business it is today. I've been involved with the company since 1988 and have seen it change enormously over that time. I'm particularly proud of the people and leadership teams we've built, and of the business's ability to keep evolving and succeeding over the years.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I've always had a strong interest in engineering and business, so I've never entirely switched off from either. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and keeping active, particularly through long-distance hiking and cycling. I've been fortunate to explore some remarkable places over the years and especially value opportunities to get off the beaten track and experience different parts of the world.
