Background

The Ichthys project is one of the largest LNG projects, taking gas from the Ichthys Field in the Browse Basin offshore of Western Australia.

Challenge

• Limited talent pools and high demand of availability due to competing projects
• Shortage of local talent with necessary skill and pipeline experience
• Verification of authenticity of candidates’ certificates
• Mobilisation of workers to multiple work locations with minimal notice, sometimes within less than a week

Airswift Solution

Airswift assembled a dedicated delivery team comprised of a global account manager and discipline-specific recruitment consultants who worked with hiring managers on a consultative basis to identify and address challenges. Airswift provided the following services to support the project:

• Recruitment of permanent, fixed term and contract personnel to all project phases across multiple international locations
• Creation of an Indonesian candidate database, enabling a turnaround of 12 hours for most of the positions in Batam, Indonesia
• Asked for recommendations for all proposed candidate to ensure competencies
• Moblisation and de-mobilisation travel support and compliant visa and immigration arrangements
• On-boarding support including international contract administration, travel and medical insurance, pre-employment background checks and medicals
• Compliant host and home country income tax and local payroll and income taxes paid on behalf of personnel
• Support of relocation, including meet and greets, accommodation and local transport, schooling for children, driver’s license conversion and event management
• Developed close relationships with contractors through regular site visits and hosted events
