2024 GETI survey now open: Tell us how AI is impacting your workforce
Airswift and Energy Jobline are proud to launch the 2024 Global Energy Talent Index (GETI) survey — the world's most comprehensive annual survey on workforce trends in the oil and gas, power, renewables, nuclear and petrochemicals sectors.
The survey is open to anyone working in the industry, and the results will be published in the eighth annual GETI report next year. This report is a must-read global snapshot of hiring trends, workforce culture, salaries, and the challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector in 2024.
This year, the survey asks the following questions:
- How is AI impacting the energy workforce?
- Are firms making the most of this evolving technology?
- Are organisations striking the right balance between AI and human skills such as creativity and critical thinking?
Is AI merely hype, or is it the way forward for the energy industry? Which platforms dominate? Views on AI in business vary. Many people feel apprehensive about how it will impact their jobs. At the same time, others embrace the newfound freedom of having some of their more mundane tasks automated, which allows them to focus on more fulfilling work.
There is also an opportunity for companies to leverage AI’s potential to close the energy workforce skills gap, particularly in technical areas such as software development and data analysis.
AI relies on logic and algorithms, which means it needs highly specialised professionals to make it work efficiently. While it can take on some tasks without much human input, there is still a gap for critical thinking and human-centric skills that machines simply cannot replicate. This highlights a need for employees to work alongside AI to deliver the best possible results for their organisation.
