Background
Airswift has been a key partner for Abt Associates since 2015, providing Talent Acquisition services and full project assignment support for several key projects around Papua New Guinea. To date, Airswift has placed over 250 positions with Abt Associates in various programsranging from Healthcare, Public Service, Financeand Forestry, as well as Global Mobility services for Abt Associates personnel travelling to Australia.
Challenge
The Western Provincial Health Authority (WPHA) delivered the Covid-19 vaccine across the province using vaccines donated via the CoVax facility and from the Government of Australia. The WPHA required additional human resources to provide clinical services, ensuring health facilities remained functional and provided routine care to people in need. Community health workers were deployed as clinical backfill while other staff were vaccinating, and also to administer the vaccine during outreach visits within the available short time frame.
Abt Associates was selected by the Government of Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to execute the PATH program in the remote region of Western Highlands, supporting the casual employment of staff through PATH for surge capacity during the Covid-19 vaccine rollout.

Airswift was involved in the project from September 2021 to the end of 2022, providing manpower support and relocation services, including logistical support, verification of certifications, PPE provisions, and 24/7 contractor support handled by our offices in Port Moresby.
Results
At its peak, Airswift provided over 15 local personnel for the project resulting in the successful rollout of over 20,000 Covid-19 vaccines in the Western Highlands province.
