Background
ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd is the single-largest manufacturing foreign investor in Singapore, with assets of more than $7 billion. ExxonMobil operates the Singapore Refinery and Singapore Chemical Plant (SCP). Together, they form ExxonMobil’s largest integrated manufacturing site in Asia.
Challenge
ExxonMobil had an integrated petrochemicals project that started construction in the refinery and chemical hub of Jurong Island in Singapore. It is integrated with the existing SCP, providing investment and operating synergies. ExxonMobil had to identify suitable contractors available on short notice, despite the shortage of skilled and experienced local contractors. ExxonMobil also needed assistance obtaining visas and work permits for contractors and organising quick mobilisation, sometimes within one day.
Airswift Solution
Airswift built a database of Singaporean candidates resulting in a turnaround of 12 hours for most of the positions. Airswift dedicated a logistics team available 24/7 to assist with visa applications and quick mobilisation of contractors.
Results
Airswift went a step further and assembled an Emergency Response Team to develop close relationships with contractors through regular site visits, they also hosted events and regularly asked contractors for candidate referral. This allowed for a consistent database of candidates always ready to go.
