The GETI 2026 survey now open
The Global Energy Talent Index (GETI) 2026 survey is officially open, and this year, it’s tackling one of the most urgent questions facing the global workforce: What does career progression look like in a world shaped by AI, automation, and the energy transition?
As the world’s most comprehensive energy workforce trends study, GETI is completing the tenth edition. If you want to understand where the industry is heading — and how employers can better attract and retain talent — this is the survey that delivers the answers.
And this year, we’re going one step further.
Why this year’s focus matters
In GETI 2025, career development was named the top priority for energy professionals — ahead of pay, benefits, or location. But with traditional pathways to progression becoming less clear, how are today’s workers finding ways to grow?As companies restructure for speed and agility, flatter hierarchies are becoming the norm. Meanwhile, AI is eliminating some roles, augmenting others, and creating new demands for digital and data skills. This shift has made it harder to visualise what a long-term career looks like.
That’s why GETI 2026 is focused on the following questions:
- How is AI influencing skill-building and job satisfaction?
- Are career ladders being replaced by lateral moves or cross-sector transitions?
- What are employers doing to provide meaningful growth opportunities?
- Can AI be used to accelerate learning — or is it getting in the way?
Who should take part?
If you work in energy, infrastructure, engineering, or related technical fields, this survey is for you — whether you’re a field technician, data analyst, project manager, or executive. GETI collects insights from professionals at every career stage, across oil and gas, renewables, nuclear, petrochemicals, and power.
Your feedback helps:
- Benchmark global career trends in your industry.
- Inform employers of what really matters to the workforce.
- Identify gaps between leadership and employee expectations.
- Shape the way businesses invest in training and retention.
