Alberta, Canada, 15 July 2021: Airswift, the global workforce services partner of choice for clients, contractors, and candidates in the global energy, process, infrastructure, mining and technology sectors, today announces a strategic senior hire to develop Canadian operations on the back of significant growth in the country. The company has seen a 50% growth in employee headcount over the last two years.
Based in Calgary, Joti Dhillon has been appointed Regional Director, Canada, succeeding the former Regional Director, Albert Kahlow, who moves into the role of Group Sales Director – IT & Technology, as Airswift continues its diversification strategy. With more than eight years’ experience within the Canadian recruitment industry, Joti brings not only a wealth of expertise in business management and workforce needs, but local and international knowledge of the oil and gas, engineering, mining, and heavy construction industries
This appointment follows strong Canadian growth over the last two years, despite Covid-19, with employee headcount doubling and the company expanding into new territories and sectors. The company’s physical presence has expanded from Calgary, Alberta and Atlantic Canada, to include Toronto, Ontario allowing the company to service projects from East to West. While Canada is traditionally known for its oil and gas industry, other sectors such as technology and renewables are growing in prominence, and Airswift will support this economic diversification.
The company’s recent growth has been driven, in part, by supporting one of the largest energy investments in Canada’s history, the LNG Canada project at Kitimat, B.C, as well as several large petrochemical projects. In addition, Airswift has recently secured contracts to support several renewable energy suppliers in the East of the country, and has expanded its operations across chemicals, power, IT and technology.
Joti Dhillon comments: “I am honored to take on this role and am in awe of the way the team has grown the business throughout Covid-19. Canada is going through an exciting transformation with a government focus on renewables and clean energy, and an expanding tech scene, alongside the country’s strength in traditional energy.
“Airswift has a strong history in the country, being active here since 2007. This coupled with the bold growth trajectory, puts us in the perfect position to support Canada’s economic evolution and diversification.”
